Depending on which email server you’re setup on, is depending on if you use SSL or TLS. Both servers require SSL for incoming, Exchange server requires SSL for outgoing, Sentora server requires TLS. If you’re not sure what server you’re on or if you’ve forgotten your password, get in touch with us
Why would I want email/calendar/contacts on my computer/mobile?
There are several advantages to having everything synced – below are most common examples.
Instant syncing of email, calendar and contacts – read an email on your mobile, it’s marked as read in your Outlook – no cables required
Jenny is Sam’s PA – Jenny enters something into Sam’s calendar, it’s synced to Sam’s Outlook and mobile within seconds
Meeting room calendar – Jenny and John will never double up appointments again – shared calendars can also be added to your smartphone, allowing you to create appointments straight from your mobile
Replacing your mobile? simply set your account up on your new phone, and all your calendar appointments, contacts and emails are synced.
Note: Over the air sync for your mobile does require mobile data or WiFi- how much data you use will depend on your email load and device. We can say, Tracy the office manager has 2 exchange accounts loaded with medium email flow and has 500mb data plan on her Samsung Galaxy S8 (Android). Exchange Sync uses around 50mb per month.
If you have any queries about Exchange sync, give us a call on 0800 Web Guy or flick us an email here
